Rock Island City Council to vote on development in Milan Bottoms
Rock Island, Ill. (KWQC) - The Rock Island City Council plans to vote on expanding a TIF district that could allow for development in the Milan Bottoms.
Rock Island’s Mayor-elect joined environmental groups for two wildlife protests over the next two weeks.
Officials from the Nahant Marsh Education Center said Ashley Harris joined conservationists during two “roost-ins” before the vote.
There is no date yet set for the vote.
Harris attended two “roost-ins” on April 9 and April 14. The first “roost-in” was at the Milan Bottoms, and the other was at Rock Island City Hall.
The City of Rock Island has said it plans to build a mini-mart in the Milan Bottoms, a more than 35-hundred-acre wetland complex near the Bally’s Casino on the Centennial Expressway.
