‘Clothes on fire’ put out in minutes by Muscatine firefighters

A “clothes on fire” 911 call led crews to a Muscatine home on Gas Lantern Square. Fire was controlled in seven minutes; no injuries.

MUSCATINE, Iowa (KWQC) - A “clothes on fire in a bedroom” 911 call brought out firefighters at 3:29 p.m. Thursday.

Seven minutes later, the fire was “under control” at a home at Gas Lantern Square in Muscatine. Fire crews saw smoke from a first-floor window, Muscatine fire officials said.

There were no injuries and all people inside were able to evacuate safely.

The damage from the fire is estimated at about $1,000.
